Proven to help you stay cool during hot flushes
The science behind our breathable fabric
Our Anti-Flush™ Technology works in four important ways to keep you cool during a hot flush. And the technology is protected by patents and pending patent applications in certain territories.
Patents: EU Pat. no. EP 3544455 (GB, DE, FR) and US Pat. no.11,206,877
Pending Patent Applications: Patent Application CA 3105344.
Cools the skin
Our silky, breathable fabrics are made with a flat thread and knitted on a cross-section. This produces a bigger surface area to transfer heat and promote cooling. Lightweight, seamless, and cool to the touch — Become will keep you feeling fresh and confident through hot flushes.
Wicks away moisture
The unique coating within our fabric reacts to sudden surges in body temperature. As your body heat begins to rise, it works hard to bring your temperature down by evaporating moisture away. With menopause sweats taken care of, you’ll be better able to perform at your best.
A second coating in our fabric absorbs and stores the heat from the surface of the skin during a hot flash or night sweat, and then releases it back during the chill that follows. This helps you maintain a stable body temperature during those hot and cold flashes.
Our cooling fabric also controls odour. The anti-microbial finish acts as a barrier against bacteria on your skin, immobilising odour and locking it in. So while you may experience menopause sweats, you and your clothing will remain fresh all day and night.
Why sportswear isn’t as effective for hot flushes
You might well ask, "What about other moisture-wicking clothing, such as sportswear?”
It’s because sportswear is not designed to manage hot flush perspiration. A typical workout can last for at least 30 minutes, during which heat is evenly distributed. During menopausal hot flushes however, a woman will expel a lot of heat and sweat in focused areas for a very short period of time (around 5-7 minutes).
Our menopause clothing has been specifically developed for this short-term rise and cool in temperature — managing the whole cycle from hot sweats to post-flush chills.
Tested by researchers, approved by women
We worked very closely with two institutes in Germany to test our clothing. The Hohenstein Institute is one of the world's leading research centres in the field of clothing and humidity management. Inside Climate is a company focused on humidity management in the apparel industry.
Importantly, we also tested our products on a diverse range of women, including doctors, mums, bloggers and athletes, each experiencing various stages of the menopause.
